Where it came from
Nezumi Cutthroat was released in 2004 as part of the Champions of Kamigawa set, the first installment in a block heavily inspired by Japanese mythology and folklore. The card represents the Nezumi, a race of humanoid rat-folk unique to the Kamigawa plane who were designed to emphasize the darker, scavenged aesthetic of the setting's underworld.
