Ob Nixilis Reignited Emblem

The Ob Nixilis Reignited Emblem was released in 2016 as part of the Duel Decks: Nissa vs. Ob Nixilis expansion for Magic: The Gathering. These decks were designed by Wizards of the Coast to highlight the long-standing rivalry between the planeswalkers Nissa Revane and Ob Nixilis, providing players with pre-constructed themes that showcased their respective powers. The emblem itself represents the ultimate ability of the Ob Nixilis Reignited planeswalker card, intended to be placed in the command zone during gameplay to signify the permanent effect triggered when the planeswalker reaches high loyalty.

The visual design features the imposing, dark aesthetic associated with Ob Nixilis, a character defined by his transformation into a demon and his ruthless desire to regain his lost spark. As with other tokens and emblems from this era, the card was illustrated to maintain visual continuity with the main deck, utilizing a minimalist but foreboding art style that emphasizes the character's signature horns and demonic iconography. It was received by the player community as a practical accessory, serving a specific mechanical function in match play while contributing to the immersive lore of the Battle for Zendikar story arc.
