Olivia's Midnight Ambush // Olivia's Midnight Ambush

Olivia's Midnight Ambush is an Art Series card released as part of the 2021 Magic: The Gathering expansion, Innistrad: Midnight Hunt. This set returned players to the fan-favorite gothic horror plane of Innistrad, focusing on themes of werewolves and the cycle of the sun and moon. The Art Series cards are special, borderless promotional cards designed to showcase the intricate illustrations used throughout the set, often stripping away the traditional gameplay text to allow the artwork to occupy the entirety of the card front.

The artwork for this piece was created by artist Mathias Kollros, who has been a frequent contributor to Magic: The Gathering. His style often leans into atmospheric lighting and the dark, moody aesthetics that define the Innistrad setting. By emphasizing the dramatic tension of a vampire-themed ambush, the design aims to evoke the classic horror tropes of the plane. These Art Series cards are intentionally produced for collectors who appreciate the visual narrative of the game, serving as a high-quality showcase for the individual illustrators involved in the set's development.
