It was designed to showcase a four-color identity, a rare mechanical space in the game, reflecting the chaotic and powerful nature of the Zendikar plane's life force as it expands beyond its previous green, red, and blue manifestations to include white.

The artwork for this version was provided by artist Chris Rahn, who sought to capture the entity's overwhelming scale and crystalline, shifting anatomy as it consumes the surrounding environment.
