Provenance

Where it came from

The Oracle of Mul Daya was originally introduced in the 2009 Zendikar set, designed to represent the mystical, land-attuned elves of the Zendikar plane. The card’s mechanic, which allows players to play lands from the top of their library, reflects the thematic focus of the set on exploration and the sentient nature of the world’s landscape. It quickly became a staple for green-aligned decks in the Commander format due to its utility in accelerating resource development.

This specific iteration from Double Masters 2022 features updated borderless art by artist Magali Villeneuve. Known for her evocative and ethereal fantasy portraiture, Villeneuve emphasizes the Oracle's connection to the mana-rich environment of Zendikar. The Double Masters series was conceived as a premium reprint set, and this version was released to provide players with a high-fidelity aesthetic update to a card that had already secured its place as a classic in Magic: The Gathering history.
