Orah, Skyclave Hierophant

Orah, Skyclave Hierophant was introduced in the 2020 Magic: The Gathering expansion Zendikar Rising, a set that revisited the iconic plane of Zendikar with a focus on adventurous exploration and party mechanics. Designed as a legendary creature representing the Kor race, Orah serves as a Cleric-tribal commander, reflecting the set's thematic emphasis on groups of adventurers working in tandem. The card was mechanically intended to bolster Cleric-focused strategies by providing a recursive engine that allows players to return smaller clerics from the graveyard to the battlefield upon the death of a more powerful one.

The promotional version, designated 233s, features the distinct alternate-frame aesthetic common to the set's 'showcase' variants. These cards were styled to resemble ancient, weathered stone tablets or artifacts native to the Skyclave ruins of Zendikar, utilizing minimalist, runic-inspired borders. The artwork for this variant was created by artist Livia Prima, who utilized a refined, ethereal color palette to emphasize the character's role as a spiritual leader within the Skyclave hierarchy. It was primarily distributed through collector boosters and specific promotional events, becoming a sought-after piece for players who favor the visual coherence of the showcase card frame.
