What it does
Exile all creatures. Each player creates a 0/0 green and blue Fractal creature token and puts a number of +1/+1 counters on it equal to the total power of creatures they controlled that were exiled this way.

Where it came from
Oversimplify was released in 2024 as part of the Duskmourn: House of Horror Commander set, a collection themed around 1980s horror tropes and haunted house aesthetics. The card serves as a board wipe for the Simic color identity, mechanically reflecting the set's focus on high-risk, high-reward interactions and the surreal, shifting nature of the Duskmourn plane. It provides a strategic reset button that encourages players to manage their board state carefully within the chaotic environment of a Commander game.
The art and design of the card draw heavily from the quintessential slashers and supernatural horror films of the late twentieth century, capturing the sudden, unsettling transformations typical of the genre. Illustrated with a focus on eerie, claustrophobic imagery, the card was received as a functional and flavorful addition to blue-green decks, standing out for its unique ability to replace destroyed creatures with tokens, a design choice intended to keep the game momentum moving while adhering to the set’s thematic tension.
