Where it came from
Overwrite the Multiverse was released as part of the Reality Fracture Art Series in 2023. These cards were specifically produced as collectible art prints, stripped of traditional game mechanics to emphasize the intricate, high-fantasy illustrations commissioned for the expansion. The set functions as a gallery-style showcase, allowing collectors to appreciate the visual language of the multiverse without the clutter of rules text or border frames.
The artwork features a chaotic, multidimensional aesthetic designed to evoke themes of reality warping and cosmic instability. By presenting the illustration in a premium, full-art format, the design team sought to elevate the role of illustrators within the hobby, treating each card as a standalone piece of digital fine art. This series was received well by collectors who prioritize the aesthetic narrative of the cards over their utility in competitive gameplay.
