Patrician Geist // Patrician Geist

Patrician Geist is part of the Innistrad: Midnight Hunt Art Series, a collection of specialty promotional cards released by Wizards of the Coast in 2021. This set was designed to showcase the intricate, gothic-horror aesthetic of the Innistrad plane by featuring full-art illustrations without the traditional card frame or text boxes. These cards were distributed primarily through set booster packs as a premium alternative to standard cards, allowing players and collectors to appreciate the detailed work of the artists commissioned for the set.

The artwork for this specific card was rendered by artist Deruchenko Alexander. In his depiction of the Patrician Geist, the artist leaned into the ethereal and somber themes central to the Innistrad setting, capturing the ghostly nobility that defines this creature type. The series was well-received by the Magic: The Gathering community, particularly among those who value the high-fantasy illustration style and the thematic storytelling that has made the Innistrad block a favorite for collectors since its debut.
