Card face

What it does

At the beginning of combat on each player's turn, that player may draw a card. If they do, they can't attack this turn and you put a peace counter on this enchantment.

At the beginning of your upkeep, if this enchantment has twelve or more peace counters on it, you win the game.

Provenance

Where it came from

Released as part of the Star Trek: The Next Generation Portfolio Prints set by Rittenhouse Archives, the Peace in Our Time card serves as a thematic tribute to the complex diplomatic storylines of the series. The card was produced to capture the high-stakes political negotiations that defined the Federation's interactions with rival powers, utilizing high-quality production standards typical of premium trading card sets from the mid-2000s.

The visual design emphasizes the gravity of Star Trek's moral philosophy, featuring curated stills that highlight the tension between diplomacy and conflict. It was designed to appeal to both casual fans and serious collectors, fitting into a broader strategy by Rittenhouse to produce collectible cards that mirrored the cinematic and narrative ambition of the television show's legacy.
