Whenever this creature attacks, create a tapped and attacking token that's a copy of the exiled card, except it's an Illusion in addition to its other types. Sacrifice that token at end of combat.

Where it came from
Phantom Steed was released in 2021 as part of the Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms Commander set. It was designed to provide a flavorful representation of the classic D&D spell, allowing players to conjure a temporary, spectral mount. The card was developed by Wizards of the Coast to bridge the gap between traditional tabletop gameplay and the mechanics of Magic: The Gathering, specifically targeting fans of the Forgotten Realms campaign setting.
The artwork for the card was provided by veteran illustrator Greg Staples, who is well known for his moody, atmospheric contributions to the game. Staples focused on capturing the ethereal, translucent nature of the steed, utilizing a cool blue-toned palette to emphasize its ghostly origin. The card was generally well-received by players for its ability to mimic the utility of the spell while fitting seamlessly into blue-aligned decks focused on creature-based combat and temporary summons.
