Phyrexian Myr

The Phyrexian Myr token was released in 2023 as part of the Multiverse Legends subset within the March of the Machine expansion for Magic: The Gathering. This set served as a retrospective celebration of the game’s deep history, featuring iconic legendary creatures from across the multiverse reimagined with unique, plane-specific art styles. The Phyrexian Myr specifically draws from the aesthetic of the New Phyrexian faction, emphasizing their biomechanical, utilitarian design language and their role as the relentless, recurring foot soldiers of their metallic plane.

The artistic direction for this token follows the signature visual identity established during the Scars of Mirrodin block, where the Myr were transformed from their original helpful, silver-plated forms into the twisted, porcelain-skinned husks of Phyrexia. The illustration highlights the integration of organic and inorganic elements, a hallmark of the faction's design. Upon release, it was well-received by players for its thematic consistency and its high-quality foil treatment, which brought the grim, clean aesthetic of the Phyrexian aesthetic to life for collectors and competitive players alike.
