Where it came from
The Planetarium of Wan Shi Tong card is part of the Avatar: The Last Airbender trading card series, which draws inspiration from the iconic library episode in the show's second season. The set was produced to commemorate the series' expansive lore, capturing the mystical and intellectual atmosphere of the Spirit Library overseen by the owl spirit, Wan Shi Tong.
The illustration focuses on the celestial map and architectural wonder of the library's interior. Designers aimed to reflect the distinct aesthetic of the show's world-building, utilizing a palette that echoes the dusty, scholarly tones of the spirit sanctuary. While these cards were released to appeal to fans and completists of the franchise, they serve as a grounded representation of the series' deep commitment to world-building and artistic detail.
