Prison Term

Prison Term was first released in 2009 as part of the initial Planechase product, a Magic: The Gathering supplemental set designed to introduce multi-player variants using oversized planar cards. The card itself represents a functional reprint of existing enchantment mechanics, specifically designed to provide players with a repeatable and reusable removal effect that can 'blink' or switch targets whenever a new creature enters the battlefield, adding a layer of tactical flexibility to the game's interaction.

The card features illustration by Kev Walker, a long-time contributor to the game whose work is characterized by dramatic lighting and a grim, high-fantasy aesthetic.
