Prosperous Innkeeper

Prosperous Innkeeper was originally introduced in the 2021 Magic: The Gathering set Adventures in the Forgotten Realms, a collaborative expansion between Wizards of the Coast and Dungeons & Dragons. Designed to bridge the gap between tabletop roleplaying mechanics and card game strategy, the card features a halfling innkeeper who provides both life gain and mana acceleration, reflecting the hospitable yet utilitarian nature of D&D tavern encounters.

The artwork, illustrated by Olga Drebas, captures the cozy, bustling aesthetic typical of fantasy settings. Within the community, the card became a foundational element of competitive green-based decks, specifically within the Standard and Alchemy formats, where its ability to generate Treasure tokens helped players ramp into larger threats during the early game. Its inclusion in The List—a curated selection of reprints—serves to keep cards with strong utility accessible to players across different play environments.
