Where it came from
Pulse of the Fields was released in 2004 as part of the Darksteel expansion for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. Developed by Wizards of the Coast, this set focused on the indestructible artifact theme central to the Mirrodin block. The card belongs to a cycle of 'Pulse' spells designed to return to a player's hand if an opponent had more of a specific resource, providing recurring utility that rewarded players for being behind in a match.
