What it does
At the beginning of each player's upkeep, that player puts a flood counter on target non-Island land they control of their choice. That land is an Island for as long as it has a flood counter on it.
At the beginning of each end step, if all lands on the battlefield are Islands, remove all flood counters from them.

Where it came from
Quicksilver Fountain was released in 2003 as part of the Mirrodin expansion for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. Set on the metallic, artifact-dominated plane of Mirrodin, the card reflects the environment's unique focus on shifting land types and the corruption of natural elements into artificial ones. Mechanically, it serves as a way to convert lands into Islands, thematic for the set's exploration of mana manipulation and environmental alteration.
The artwork for the card was created by noted fantasy illustrator Trevor Hairsine. His contribution captures the surreal, industrial aesthetic of Mirrodin, depicting the fountain as a source of liquid metal or magically infused water pouring forth across the landscape. The design was received as a niche but flavorful utility card, appreciated by players who focused on blue mana strategies or thematic deck building that interacted with the set's specific mechanics regarding land types.
