Raccoon Rallier // Raccoon Rallier

Raccoon Rallier was released in 2024 as part of the Bloomburrow Art Series, a collection of cards featuring enlarged, borderless illustrations from the Magic: The Gathering expansion of the same name. These cards are non-gameplay collectibles designed specifically to highlight the intricate, storybook-inspired aesthetic of the plane of Bloomburrow, a world populated entirely by anthropomorphic animals. This particular piece showcases the vibrant and cozy artistic direction that defines the set, emphasizing the high-fantasy woodland theme that Wizards of the Coast sought to cultivate for this release.

The illustration itself captures the whimsical spirit of the 'Raccoon Rallier' character, reflecting the detailed painterly style commissioned for the set. Artists for the Bloomburrow series were tasked with evoking a nostalgic, fable-like atmosphere that distinguishes the set from the more traditional dark-fantasy tropes common in the game. Upon its debut, the series was well-received by fans and collectors who appreciated the shift toward a softer, character-focused visual language that prioritized charm and thematic depth.
