Ravenous Rats

Ravenous Rats originally debuted in the Urza's Destiny expansion in 1999 as a common creature card designed to provide black decks with efficient early-game utility. The card was specifically crafted to force opponents to discard a card upon entering the battlefield, a mechanic that became a hallmark of the color pie's disruptive capabilities. By the time it was reprinted in the Eighth Edition core set in 2003, the card had solidified its role as a staple in limited play environments.
