Reinforcements

Reinforcements is a common green sorcery card featured in the 'Snowscape' theme deck, one of the three preconstructed decks released alongside the Magic: The Gathering expansion set Coldsnap in July 2006. Coldsnap was designed as a thematic continuation of the Ice Age and Alliances sets, intended to complete the narrative arc of the 'Ice Age' block that had been left unfinished since 1996. The set introduced the snow-covered mechanic to a modern rules framework, focusing on cold-weather aesthetics and utility cards that bolstered creature-based strategies.

The artwork for Reinforcements was provided by illustrator Dan Dos Santos, who sought to capture the high-fantasy urgency of combat assistance within a frigid environment. Like many cards in the theme decks, Reinforcements was included to provide players with a straightforward method of creature recursion, allowing them to cycle units back into their library for late-game recovery. While the card is a functional piece of deck utility rather than a flagship rarity, it remains a recognized example of mid-2000s card design aimed at balancing accessible gameplay with the nostalgic, chilly atmosphere of the set.
