Provenance

Where it came from

The Rescue Leopard was released as part of the Magic: The Gathering set Tarkir: Dragonstorm. This set centers on the reimagined, dragon-ruled timeline of the plane of Tarkir, a world defined by its complex clan-based hierarchy and shifting magical alignments. The card reflects the set's broader mechanical focus on endurance and creature-based synergy, providing players with a utility piece designed for board state recovery within the high-stakes environment of the Tarkir narrative.

The illustration was crafted to convey the lean, predatory grace of the creature while emphasizing its protective role in the arid, mountainous terrain of the region. The design team aimed to balance the aesthetic of a swift feline hunter with the mechanical function of an anchor for a player's field presence, ensuring the artwork harmonized with the rugged, weathered visual language characteristic of the Tarkir expansion.
