Where it came from
Reshape the Earth was released in 2020 as part of the Commander Legends set, the first Magic: The Gathering booster set specifically designed for the Commander multiplayer format. The card was created to serve as a high-mana, high-impact sorcery that allows players to search their library for up to ten land cards, capturing the epic, landscape-altering scale typical of green-aligned cards in the game's color pie.
The illustration was crafted by artist Titus Lunter, who has contributed to numerous Magic: The Gathering sets. Lunter focused on a visual narrative of tectonic upheaval and natural expansion, aiming to convey the raw, magical power of reshaping a realm. Upon its release, the card was well-received by the Commander community for its ability to drastically thin a player's library and provide significant mana acceleration in a single turn.
