Where it came from
Resplendent Angel is a reprint card originally debuting in the 2018 Core Set, featuring artwork by Anna Steinbauer. This specific version, identified as collector number 32s, was released as a promotional card for The Lost Caverns of Ixalan expansion. It features the distinctive borderless art treatment that Wizards of the Coast frequently utilizes for special promotional releases, aiming to provide players and collectors with an aesthetically distinct alternative to the standard card frame.
The design of the card emphasizes a high-fantasy celestial aesthetic, consistent with the themes of the Magic: The Gathering franchise's Angel creature type. Upon its original release, the card was lauded by players for its efficiency and power level in aggressive white-aligned decks. By the time this promotional version was issued, the card had already established itself as a staple within the Commander format, ensuring that this specific printing remained highly sought after for both competitive utility and visual appeal.
