Reya Dawnbringer

Reya Dawnbringer was originally introduced in the 2001 Magic: The Gathering expansion set Invasion. As a powerful legendary angel capable of reanimating fallen creatures, she became a cornerstone of white-aligned reanimator strategies and commander decks. Her design emphasizes the celestial authority and protective role typical of the plane of Dominaria’s angelic host, serving as a high-mana cost finisher that rewards long-term board presence.

This specific iteration, numbered 1682, was released as part of a Secret Lair Drop, a specialized series of limited-run reprints featuring unique, stylized art often commissioned from guest illustrators to distinguish them from standard card releases. The Secret Lair program was designed to offer collectors and enthusiasts aesthetic alternatives to staple cards, allowing the game's iconic characters to be reimagined through diverse artistic lenses while maintaining the underlying mechanical identity of the original game pieces.
