Righteous Confluence

Righteous Confluence was introduced in the Commander 2015 set, released by Wizards of the Coast as part of their annual supplemental product line tailored for the multiplayer Commander format. Designed to offer flexibility and strategic depth, the card is part of a cycle of 'Confluence' spells that allow players to choose three modes from a list of options, effectively scaling in utility as the game progresses. This design philosophy aimed to provide players with tools that could adapt to the shifting board states characteristic of chaotic multiplayer environments.

The artwork for the card was created by illustrator Deruchenko Alexander, who leaned into the dramatic, ethereal aesthetic common to high-fantasy card games. His depiction of a celestial force gathering power aligns with the card’s white color identity, which centers on themes of protection, taxation, and creature management.
