Rogue's Gloves

Rogue's Gloves was introduced in the Magic 2015 core set, a collection released in July 2014 that sought to bridge the gap between traditional core set design and the more narrative-driven mechanics found in expert-level expansions. The card was designed as an uncommon artifact equipment that rewards a player for successfully dealing combat damage to an opponent, leaning into the set's broader theme of incentivizing aggressive playstyles.

The illustration for the card was created by artist Igor Kieryluk, whose work often focuses on high-fantasy equipment and character aesthetics within the Magic: The Gathering multiverse. Kieryluk depicted the gloves with an emphasis on shadowed, utilitarian leather and metal accents, aiming to convey the stealthy, opportunistic nature of a rogue. The design was received as a solid, functional inclusion for limited formats, serving as a reliable way for players to generate incremental card advantage.
