Runeclaw Bear

Runeclaw Bear was originally introduced in the Magic 2010 core set as a functional reprint of the classic 'Bear' archetype. It serves as a quintessential example of a vanilla creature, providing a simple, efficient two-mana cost for a 2/2 body, which has been a fundamental building block of the game's design since the release of Grizzly Bears in the Alpha set. The creature's art depicts a fierce ursine guardian imbued with magical markings, adhering to the traditional high-fantasy aesthetic established by Wizards of the Coast.

This particular version, identified as M15-197 and appearing in 'The List', is part of a curated selection of reprints integrated into modern booster packs to provide players with access to older cards. The design reflects the mid-2010s shift toward more dynamic creature illustrations while maintaining the mechanical straightforwardness that helps newer players grasp the basic principles of combat and resource management within Magic: The Gathering.
