Salvation Colossus

Salvation Colossus was released in 2024 as part of the Modern Horizons 3 Commander set, a collection specifically curated for the Magic: The Gathering Commander format. As a colorless artifact creature, it reflects the set's thematic emphasis on high-cost, high-impact spells designed to interact with the game's graveyard and sacrifice mechanics. The card draws upon the lore of the Eldrazi, the ancient, world-consuming entities that serve as a central antagonists in the game's multiverse, positioning it as a significant titan within the context of recent expansions.

The card's design features the work of illustrator Svetlin Velinov, whose aesthetic often captures the scale and ethereal menace of the Eldrazi. The illustration focuses on the towering, alien geometry characteristic of the faction, aiming to convey both a sense of overwhelming power and structural decay. Within the competitive and casual Commander scenes, the card has been received as a versatile finisher, particularly for decks that rely on board presence and recursion, solidifying its place in the modern tactical landscape of the game.
