Where it came from
Sami's Curiosity is a card from the Edge of Eternities set, released during a period when the game was expanding its narrative focus on individual character backstories. It was crafted to represent a pivotal moment of discovery for the titular character, capturing the tension between intellectual ambition and the potential dangers inherent in the game's mystical lore.
The artwork for this card was commissioned to evoke a sense of quiet intensity, emphasizing the character's focus amidst a cluttered, arcane environment. Critics and players of the time noted that the illustration succeeded in grounding the card's mechanical effects within the broader world-building of the Edge of Eternities, helping to anchor the set's thematic transition toward more personal, character-driven gameplay.
