Scrapwork Rager // Scrapwork Rager

Scrapwork Rager appears as part of The Brothers' War Art Series, a collection of cards released by Wizards of the Coast in late 2022 to showcase the individual illustrations featured in the mainline Magic: The Gathering set of the same name. These cards are non-playable collectibles designed specifically to highlight the intricate mechanical and post-apocalyptic aesthetic of the set, which revisits the seminal conflict between the artificer brothers Urza and Mishra.

The illustration for Scrapwork Rager was created by artist Igor Kieryluk, whose work often explores dark, atmospheric fantasy themes. In this piece, the artist emphasizes the modular, cobbled-together nature of the machine, reflecting the scavenged aesthetic central to the set's portrayal of a world ravaged by protracted industrial warfare. The card features an embossed gold stamp of the artist's signature on the face, a signature design element for the Art Series line intended to emphasize the collectible nature of the cards.
