Servo

The Servo token was released in 2021 as part of the Kaldheim Commander expansion for Magic: The Gathering. While Kaldheim itself centered on Norse-inspired mythology, the inclusion of the Servo token served to support specific artifact-focused strategies that appeared in the associated preconstructed decks. These tokens are designed to represent the small, mechanical constructs that populate the game’s multiverse, appearing whenever a card effect creates a 1/1 artifact creature.

The visual design of the Servo token follows the established aesthetic for these constructs within the Magic: The Gathering art direction, characterized by their modular, brass-and-gear aesthetic. As a utility token, its purpose is to provide a physical placeholder during gameplay. Like most tokens produced for expansion sets, it was illustrated to be functional and recognizable, fitting seamlessly into the broader ecosystem of the game's creature archetypes rather than being a standalone piece of collectible art.
