Sickening Shoal

Sickening Shoal was released in 2005 as part of the Betrayers of Kamigawa expansion for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. This set was designed to explore the mythology of the Kamigawa plane, drawing heavily from Japanese folklore and Shinto spirits. The card belongs to the 'Shoal' cycle, a series of instant spells that allowed players to cast them for free by exiling a card of the same color from their hand, reflecting the set's focus on fluid, mana-efficient interactions and thematic spirit manifestations.
