Provenance

Where it came from

The Silver Shroud Costume was released as part of the Fallout-themed Secret Lair drop for Magic: The Gathering, which debuted in early 2024 to coincide with the broader cross-promotion between Wizards of the Coast and the Fallout franchise. This specific card represents the iconic trench coat and fedora worn by the protagonist in the Fallout 4 questline, serving as a direct homage to the pulp detective radio plays found within the game's post-apocalyptic setting.

The art was commissioned to capture the noir aesthetic of the Shroud’s persona, utilizing the distinctive dark, moody lighting and stylized composition common in contemporary digital illustration for the game. Upon its release, the card was well-received by players and fans of the series for its thematic accuracy and ability to represent the character's gear as an equipment card within the game's mechanics.
