Provenance

Where it came from

Sin, Unending Cataclysm was released in 2023 as part of the Magic: The Gathering Universes Beyond: Final Fantasy Commander set. This card represents a significant crossover between the long-running Final Fantasy video game franchise and Wizards of the Coast's trading card game. The design captures the essence of Sin, the primary antagonist from Final Fantasy X, translating the creature's status as a recurring, world-threatening force into the mechanics of Commander gameplay.

The art features the imposing, whale-like bio-mechanical form of Sin, designed to evoke the scale and dread central to its role in the game's narrative. As part of a highly anticipated set that spans the entire history of the Final Fantasy series, this card was produced to offer fans a thematic representation of iconic characters and entities. Upon its release, the set was noted for its visual fidelity to the source material, providing collectors with a bridge between the classic RPG aesthetics of Square Enix and the strategic environment of Magic: The Gathering.
