Sky Diamond

Sky Diamond was first introduced in the Invasion expansion of Magic: The Gathering in 2000 as part of a cycle of two-mana artifacts that tap to produce a single specific color of mana. This card represents a blue-aligned mana rock designed to provide players with a consistent source of acceleration in the early stages of a game, fitting into the utility-focused design philosophy of the era where colored artifacts helped define the identity of specific deck archetypes.

The version from the Crimson Vow Commander set, featuring collector number 167, utilizes updated card framing and thematic art to fit the gothic horror aesthetic of the Innistrad plane. While the original iteration by artist Rebecca Guay remains an iconic piece of early game history, this reprinted variant maintains the mechanical functionality of the original while serving as an accessible inclusion for players looking to bolster their blue mana bases within the Commander format.
