Where it came from
Sky-Eel School was released in 2024 as part of the Magic: The Gathering Foundations Jumpstart set. This set was designed to be highly accessible for new players, featuring simplified mechanics and thematic archetypes that serve as a gentle introduction to the game’s extensive card pool. The card features the blue color identity, emphasizing the game's focus on aerial evasion and card efficiency.
The artwork for the card captures the ethereal, fluid nature of the creature, aligning with the visual language of the game's fantasy world.
