S.N.E.A.K. Dispatcher

The S.N.E.A.K. Dispatcher was released in 2017 as part of Unstable, the third 'un-set' produced by Wizards of the Coast for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. Designed by Mark Rosewater and his team, the set was built around the concept of silver-bordered cards that prioritize humor and mechanics that would be impossible or nonsensical within the standard rules framework. This specific card represents the S.N.E.A.K. faction, one of five secret organizations thematic to the set, which emphasizes themes of espionage and stealth.

The card’s illustration was created by artist Nils Hamm, whose work is known for its atmospheric and often moody aesthetic. In the context of Unstable, the design serves as a functional piece of gameplay machinery that rewards players for interacting with the card's specific faction-based abilities. As with much of the Unstable set, the card was received as a novelty for casual play environments, celebrated primarily for its inventive, rule-bending design that invited players to engage with the game in a more whimsical and experimental fashion.
