Sphinx's Revelation

Sphinx's Revelation was originally released in the 2012 Return to Ravnica expansion, designed as a powerful blue-white sorcery meant to provide card advantage and life gain in the late game. It became a hallmark of control decks during its standard rotation, known for its ability to stabilize a player's board position significantly. The card is mechanically tied to the Azorius Senate, a guild defined by its legislative and judicial role in the plane of Ravnica, reflecting a design philosophy centered on balance and resource management.

The version from The Brothers' War Commander set, numbered 130, retains the original illustration by Dan Scott. This iteration serves as a reprint within a supplemental product designed for the Commander format, which celebrates the historical narrative of the conflict between Urza and Mishra. While the art and effect remain true to the card's debut, its inclusion in this set allows players to integrate a quintessential control tool into decks reflecting the thematic depth of Magic: The Gathering's history.
