Provenance

Where it came from

Splendid Reclamation was originally released in the 2016 expansion Eldritch Moon, designed as a rare sorcery that allows players to return all land cards from their graveyard to the battlefield. The card gained significant popularity in various Magic: The Gathering formats for its ability to enable powerful ramp strategies, eventually being featured as part of the Art Series in the 2021 Crimson Vow release. These Art Series cards are oversized promotional items designed to showcase the intricate illustrations from the set in a format free of traditional gameplay text.

The artwork for this version was produced by the illustrator Titus Lunter, whose work is highly regarded within the Magic: The Gathering community for its atmospheric and painterly quality. In this piece, Lunter sought to capture the reclamation of nature as it reclaims ruins, using a muted color palette to evoke the gothic, somber tone of the Innistrad plane. Upon its release in the Crimson Vow Art Series, the card was well-received by collectors who value the opportunity to appreciate the detailed, high-resolution prints without the obstruction of frame borders or rule text.
