Where it came from
Springjack Shepherd was originally printed as a rare card in the 2008 Magic: The Gathering expansion Eventide. Designed as part of the set's focus on hybrid mana costs and the chroma mechanic, the card was intended to reward players for committing heavily to white mana symbols by generating a swarm of goat tokens. Its whimsical art, provided by illustrator Jesper Ejsing, captures the surreal and fairytale-inspired aesthetic typical of the Shadowmoor and Eventide block.
