Where it came from
Stadium Vendors was released in 2018 as part of Battlebond, a Magic: The Gathering set uniquely designed for the Two-Headed Giant multiplayer format. The set focused on themes of camaraderie and team-based competition, set within the arena-centric plane of Valor's Reach. As an artifact card, Stadium Vendors captures the flavor of the bustling, energetic atmosphere surrounding the games, providing players with card-filtering utility through its enters-the-battlefield ability.
The card’s illustration was created by artist Igor Kieryluk, who utilized a vibrant, high-energy aesthetic to match the sporting spectacle of the plane. His design emphasizes the chaotic yet essential role of vendors amidst the excitement of the arena, blending fantasy elements with the recognizable trope of a stadium food seller. The card was well-received by players for its practical utility in limited formats and its contribution to the immersive world-building of the Battlebond expansion.
