Steel Leaf Champion

The Steel Leaf Champion was originally released as part of the Dominaria set in 2018, designed as a powerful green creature card that quickly became a staple in aggressive Magic: The Gathering decks. Its design, featuring high power and a restrictive casting cost alongside built-in evasion against small-creature blockers, was intended to solidify the strength of mono-green strategies within the competitive metagame. The card's aesthetic, depicting a formidable nature-construct, reflects the thematic focus of the Dominaria set on returning to the roots of the game's high-fantasy lore.

This specific iteration, card number 182s, is a promotional variant distributed through local game stores as a participation or prize incentive during the set's release window. These promo cards feature unique artwork and the expansion symbol, serving as collectible rewards for active members of the community. Upon its introduction, the card was widely received by players as a highly efficient threat, cementing its status as both a functional necessity for tournament play and a sought-after piece for collectors of the Dominaria era.
