Stern Mentor

Stern Mentor was released in 2012 as part of the Avacyn Restored expansion for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. Set within the gothic-horror plane of Innistrad, this expansion focused on the themes of light, hope, and the return of the archangel Avacyn to defend humanity against the forces of darkness. As a blue-aligned card, the Mentor reflects the set's mechanical emphasis on flickering and triggered abilities, providing players with a tool to tap opponent creatures through the soulbond keyword, which represented the cooperative bonds between the protectors and the protected.
