Provenance

Where it came from

Stone Haven Pilgrim was originally printed in the 2015 set Battle for Zendikar. Designed for the Magic: The Gathering card game, the card reflects the aesthetic of the Kor people, a nomadic race defined by their gravity-defying maneuvers and devotion to the lithomancy of their home plane. The illustration by Winona Nelson emphasizes the religious fervor and utility-focused equipment culture prevalent within the Kor society during the Eldrazi conflict.

The card was later included in 'The List', a curated selection of reprints integrated into Set Boosters starting in 2020. This initiative was designed by Wizards of the Coast to provide players with unexpected access to older, mechanically unique cards that might otherwise be difficult to source. While the original version was a common rarity within its thematic expansion, its inclusion in The List serves as a bridge for collectors to acquire cards that highlight the diverse mechanical history of the game.
