Provenance

Where it came from

The Storm Shaman card originates from the Deckmasters set, a unique 2001 release that served as a collaborative celebration between Wizards of the Coast and the creators of the Vampire: The Eternal Struggle collectible card game. This set was intended to offer fans a curated selection of cards that highlighted the artistic evolution and mechanical depth of the games during a pivotal era for trading card design.

The artwork for the Storm Shaman was crafted by Christopher Rush, a legendary figure in the early development of trading card illustration. Rush utilized a distinct style characterized by bold composition and high-contrast imagery to evoke the elemental fury of the character, a design approach that was widely praised at the time for its clarity and evocative power within the limited space of a game card.
