Surge of Salvation // Surge of Salvation

Surge of Salvation was released in 2023 as part of the March of the Machine Art Series for the Magic: The Gathering expansion of the same name. These cards were specifically produced as promotional items, appearing in set boosters to showcase the detailed key art used for the card's standard play counterpart. They serve as collectible tributes to the visual identity of the multiverse-spanning conflict depicted in the set.

The artwork for this piece was created by artist Justyna Dura, who designed the imagery to embody the protective, white-aligned essence of the spell within the game's mechanics. The illustration focuses on themes of shielding and divine intervention, reflecting the high-stakes narrative of the Phyrexian invasion. The series was well-received by collectors who appreciate the larger, borderless format, which allows for a more immersive view of the intricate world-building and character design central to the game's aesthetic.
