Provenance

Where it came from

Telepathy was originally printed in the Legends expansion in 1994, designed by Wizards of the Coast to introduce more complex enchantment mechanics to the Magic: The Gathering card game. As a blue enchantment, its design reflects the color's identity of information gathering and library manipulation, allowing the controller to peer into an opponent's hand to better anticipate their strategic plays.

The version from Ninth Edition, released in 2005, features the clean, updated card frame introduced in Eighth Edition to improve readability. The artwork was provided by Brian Snaddow, who captured the card's theme of psychic intrusion through a stylized, ethereal visualization, remaining a favorite among players who value utility-based enchantments in casual and control-oriented decks.
