Where it came from
Temple of Deceit originated as part of the cycle of scry-lands first introduced in the Theros set. Designed to provide both color-fixing and card selection, these lands were created to support multicolor strategies while mitigating the variance of card draw, fitting into a design philosophy that favored meaningful choices during the early game.
For the Foundations release, the card features updated art that maintains the established aesthetic of the Therosian underworld. The design continues to reflect the somber, architectural grandeur of Erebos's domain, intended to evoke a sense of calculated manipulation appropriate for its Dimir-aligned mechanics.
