Temur Battle Rage

Temur Battle Rage was released in early 2015 as part of the Fate Reforged set for Magic: The Gathering. Set in the frozen tundra of the Tarkir plane, the card represents the ferocious combat style of the Temur Frontier, a clan defined by their survivalist nature and connection to elemental spirits. The card mechanics were specifically engineered to reward high-power creatures, perfectly capturing the theme of an all-out, aggressive assault during a pivotal moment in the set's storyline.

The artwork was illustrated by Johann Bodin, who sought to capture the visceral intensity of a Temur warrior mid-battle. By focusing on the blur of movement and the raw strength required to manifest the 'Ferocious' ability, the design highlights the clan's reliance on physical prowess. Upon its release, the card gained significant traction in competitive formats, particularly Modern, where its ability to grant double strike and trample made it a staple in 'Death's Shadow' and various aggressive combo decks.
