Where it came from
Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle was originally released in the 2018 expansion set Dominaria, representing a legendary bird cleric from the Benalish culture. The character is deeply rooted in the lore of the plane, serving as a spiritual bridge between the living and the honored dead, and this specific version was issued as a special promotional card for the set.
The artwork for the card was created by Magali Villeneuve, a celebrated fantasy illustrator known for her emotive and detailed character portraits. Her design emphasizes the creature’s divine stature and protective role, utilizing a ethereal color palette that highlights the angelic and avian qualities of the character, which resonated well with collectors and players who favored tribal-themed or graveyard-synergy decks.
